She is a champion of nature, Elena Siffredi Duranti. The Giustrela is his creature, born in 2008 in the small mountain municipality of Monchio delle Corti (Parma), inside the Regional Park of the Valleys of the Cedra and Parma (Park of the Hundred Lakes) and bordering the National Park of the Appennino Tosco-Emiliano.
Giustrela means lizard, in the dialect of. "With the warmer weather and the sun, the lizard goes out to juggle the countryside, moving quickly as if looking for always something. And so do I". It describes so, Elena, on the site of the farm. "As soon as the weather allows I go out and start to run to the woods, meadows, pastures in search of some fruit or herb, wild food to collect, bring to the lab, and turn in any product. I collect, In fact, and I only transform fruit, herbs and mushrooms that grow in the wild, without the intervention of man. Nature produces, with its time, the rhythms and balances, and I just I, without intruding on it. This is the aspect that fascinates me the most about my work; it is above all a passion and a choice of life, that allows me to live in the Nature, and of Nature".
The philosophy of the company, here, it is very simple: collecting fruits, flowers and herbs that grow in the wild, the intent of the Giustrela is "to make known and reflect anyone as good, in the true sense of the word, the Nature can give you, if only we take care".

Everything that Elena Siffredi Duranti collects is transformed in the laboratory of Monchio delle Corti. Jams and jellies, in oil and herbal teas, syrups and juices, flour and mushrooms. The entire production chain is within the company.
Harvesting takes place in the Parco dei Cento Laghi: native and wild herbs and fruit and fruit from trees planted in the past and then abandoned. The secret? Only one: respect nature. His times, its rhythms, its balances. Each year is different from the other: if the season is "rich", Elena works frantically; if it is scarce, rests. Also within the Park of the Hundred Lakes, the Giustrela has a background to Casarola, with a coppice of beech, to 1300 meters above sea level. The wild raspberry has spontaneously settled here. And bramble too, blueberry, red elderberry. All species that, being in their natural habitat and "protected" by beech, they do not require any type of treatment.
Packaging and labeling are also done directly, using a packaging consistent with the company philosophy: returnable empty jars and bottles, reused tetrapak containers for herbal tea packages, use of recycled paper and rough fabrics (like yuta and twine), ad hoc printed labels to avoid waste.
