THE CARROT OF POLIGNANO A MARE HAS ARRIVED

Directly from the Tavoliere della Puglie, the carrots of Polignano a Mare arrived. The cultivation is done in small plots of sandy soil in the hamlet of San Vito.
The sowing is carried out at the end of summer, between August and September, following a centuries-old tradition, the farmers choose the best plants every year, plant them in small separate plots and cultivate them in the sandy soils of the coast.
Harvest time begins in early December, with a strictly manual procedure with the help of a pitchfork with which to move the earth around the plant and carefully pull it out of the ground.
The carrots of Polignano are distinguished by the variety of colors: orange, soft yellow, intense yellow, up to dark purple. But the uniqueness and extraordinariness of this cultivation certainly lies in the flavor of these carrots. The irrigation carried out with brackish water, drawn from ancient wells, makes this carrot fresh and with a savory taste.
It has a low sugar content and contains important amounts of natural antioxidants and mineral salts.
