THE CARROT OF POLIGNANO A MARE HAS ARRIVED

Directly from the Tavoliere della Puglie, Polignano a Mare carrots have arrived. The cultivation is done in small plots of sandy soil in the hamlet of San Vito.
Sowing is done in late summer, between August and September, following a centuries-old tradition, the farmers choose the best plants every year, they plant them in small separate plots and cultivate them in the sandy soils of the coast.
The harvest time begins in early December, with a strictly manual procedure with the help of a pitchfork with which to move the earth around the plant and carefully extract it from the ground.
Polignano carrots are distinguished by the variety of colors: Orange, pale yellow, intense yellow, up to dark purple. But the uniqueness and extraordinary nature of this cultivation certainly lies in the flavor of these carrots. Irrigation performed with brackish water, drawn from ancient wells, makes this carrot fresh and with a savory flavor.
It has a low sugar content and contains important amounts of natural antioxidants and mineral salts.
